An
RP part is used to create a master pattern.
-
All shrinkage allowances of the wax & metal are in
corporate into the CAD data.
-
A silicone rubber mold is prepared using the RP master.
-
Into this silicone rubber mold molten investment grade
is poured. The wax patterns are later supplied to Investment
casting foundry.
-
In the foundry, a wax patterns are glued to a supporting
structure to form a tree, which also serves as the pouring
hole.
-
The wax patterns are dipped in various layers of ceramic
slurry ranging from fine to coarse. This provides a very
strong external casing for the wax.
-
The wax is burnt out in a dewaxing chamber & the shell
is baked to a very temperature to give it a good strength.
-
Finally desired molten metal is smelted & is poured
into the ceramic shell.
-
After the metal is cooled, the shell is broken down &
the gate & flashes are trimmed off.
-
The final casting if needed can be machined along the
desired surfaces.
