Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a non-laser based RP process,
wherein filaments of heated thermoplastic material are extruded
from a tip which moves in the X Y Plane. A fine filament of
molten material is extruded from the nozzle & it deposits
on the platform, which moves in the Z direction. The platform
is maintained at a lower temperature so that the molten material
immediately adheres & solidifies to the pervious layer.
Supports are built wherever necessary of a soluble material,
which is subsequently dissolved after part completion, by
dipping the part in an ultra sonic water tank.
