FINISHING
TECHNIQUES
To maximize
the application of prototypes 3DPD offers various finish options
on the prototypes as detailed.
Standard
Finish: |
“Fast
and Cheap”SLA - Epoxy parts are stripped of uncured
liquid resin, minimal sanding on support surfaces, UV post
cure.SLS - Nylon parts are dusted to remove free nylon powder
& mildly bead blasted.FDM - ABS parts. The water-soluble
supports are removed automatically in a water tank & parts
are mildly sanded.Silicone rubber molded - PU parts. Gates,
runners, raisers & flashes are trimmed. |
Polish
Finish: |

Primer
Finish: |
“Mold
master finish”Standard finish + additional sanding and
filling. Parts are primed (gray). This finish is ideal for
“paint-ready” parts or for parts that are going
to be used for RTV (cast urethane) molding. All prototypes
can be primed. |
Chrome
Plating: |
Polish
finish + the application of a chrome paint. This is available
in silver. |

Available
only with silicone rubber molded parts. They can be dyed in
an array of colors without changing the overall size of the
part.
Available for all - SLA, SLS, FDM & silicone rubber molded
parts. The parts are primed & then the desired colour
is painted. This will give the highest level of aesthetic
feel for the prototypes. The paint used in PU paint from MRF,
ICI & Sandox. |
